BRO! Thanks so frigging much for hosting that workshop today at Long & McQuade in Cambridge, Saturday May 11, 2024. I had absolutely no clue how uncanny your drumming was! Just blown tf away! Immediate subscription. Even before this video started. Cameron Fleury. As an added bonus your last name is my favorite hockey player’s last name(Theoren). F’n WOW man!!!
Wouldn't this be polymeter not polyrhythm?
Both
I don't know if the biggest joke was with Lars or with Tool
I'm gonna buy this. Thanks
How? 😅 Im also practicing but i dont get it.
Sounds good man 🤘🏼
ty for this one chief, needed something to help me visualize galloping for learning the song hatupatu by alien weaponry
Technique, gear, settings, and comfort are all important, but if you don't practice, you will always suck!
should bookmark in case I feel the need for self punishment
How to play it without missing every other stroke? Or in a beat? I know, it's challenging. You should try it! Fun.
I think the heel toe is much energy preserving than double strokes
How do you best combine this for a fast single stroke roll
I play on the balls of my feet mainly until I do doubles, then it's toe, toe
Ankle technique for all tempos
I love instrumental matal. the screaming ruins it
Because St. Anger is TRASH metal. 🤣
Amazing 💯 did you use majority of the shin muscle or calves while playing at higher tempos?
What is the title sir??
What kind of tape do you use too mark your spots
Hahahaha. Had me rollin man
I am practicing my left hand hybrid technique like mad lately. I am sick of my left hand being so weak compared to my right. I can do hybrid with my right really well but my left is stuck back hand side up. But it is already many times better in just a few days. Just not for long periods of time.
Ty needed this info
hey cameron great video it really helped me a lot! what's the song in the background?
What do you call it? Headache "music"
I got a drumset when rockband was popular. So one christmas I got a Ludwig accent combo and also the rockband set. I would turn my TV to my drums and put it on practice mode with drums. If you know the song well enough you know what the colors will mean. It taught me how to play a few rush songs in middle school so it definitely helped haha. I would sometimes warm up with rock band drums then use the real drums. So I could learn then without needing to look.
Bravo
I do the simple ankle double bass. I use my legs if it is slow enough or I get too tired. Just not much and I doubt I'd see more energy if I avoid it. I will try. Because going from fast ankle then slower using legs is a nice nice break during some songs/sets. 3:16 gasp I see feet sliding!!
Triggers always made things harder for me. When I was in high school I had the first edition roland bass trigger and alesis dm5 module (I might start using it). We had a good wretched/TBDM inspired (code word inspired) band. Oddly my guitar friends were REALLY good for their age. Our school had a show in the theater room. One dude kinda had experience with the mixing board. He put my trigger DIRECTLY to the main PAs at the top of the stage were the guitars were not..... So during the slow end of exodus of autonomy, I was not playing then had a miss fire from a trigger and it scared the shit out of me and probably everyone.
Triggers remind me of grown ups putting a card between the bike spokes. I love it and I hope I never run out of cards
This will never not be funny.
OMG I'm dying laughing here You really larsed it up
Fuckin' good explanation I'll work on it and I'll come back again to let you know how your technique helped me to be able to play things which I've never ever expected
Nice shocks
Thank you
Lars Playing Tool would just be like John Bonham playing Black Dog and Kashmir, 4/4 all the way through odd Time Signatures.
Clean bro!
Oh my goodness! I loosened my tension springs and tightened my bass head, then I put on these rubber ball beaters from kat! What a difference!
I prefer anchel technique but if am doing doubles it would be heal toe
Just asking, if i got into drumming starting fresh, how many months do i have to practice to be able to make skank beats at like 150 to 250 bpm?
😂😂😂nailed it 😂😂😂
Link to the double bass course not working 😠
What exercise is this though
🤣🤣🤣🤣
My advice: When you’re sitting 🪑 down AND shaking 🫨 your right leg 🦵 THAT’S the technique for BOTH feet 🦶
What beaters are those
Double strokes w/ heel toe gives u a huge power as well
Cam - I REALLY hate to tell you this but this wrong…..I literally was taught by the man himself on this kit AT his house how to play it properly- it’s “kinda” left for lead per se but your first note is the Right foot - I played it on this kit right here in his video -go to --7:18-- and you will see him start with the Rt foot- and I just asked Charlie yesterday cause we’re on tour with Anthrax and he plays it just like I said. ua-cam.com/video/TZr478YTJhA/v-deo.htmlsi=h_AE8cmN_z6jPxpR
No problem, Jason! Thanks for the clarity on this. \M/
220bpm is hardly mastering 😅 report back when you're in the 280's homie
im a guitarist but Joey makes me want to play drums
